Retreat, Workshop and Rehearsal
Towards the end of terms 2 and 3 — specifically on the Friday morning immediately prior to Confirmation and First Communion — the children attend an activity at St Mary’s Church in Hamilton.
Students at St Mary’s Primary School may attend school as usual, as transport will be arranged from school. Students at other schools are asked to notify their schools of their planned absence, and arrange their own transport to St Mary’s Church.
The activity incorporates a spiritual retreat, a practical workshop and a rehearsal. The morning allows the children to spend some time in personal prayer, consolidate what they have learned, and make some practical preparations for the celebrations of Confirmation and First Communion.
